DIY: Deep Cleansing Facial

Hello Readers,

As you know I’m on a 30 day natural hair and beauty regimen. If you missed the introductory post please read Here

If you have Oily Skin that is Prone to Acne and are looking for an all natural way to deeply cleanse your skin, this post is for you. This all Natural DIY Facial allows you to detoxify your skin, draw out impurities from your pores and heal and hydrate Skin. Afterwards your face will feel so smooth and clean. If this is your first time doing this, you’ll experience some breakouts over a couple of days, but don’t worry, your skin is just purging.

I perform this at home facial 1x a Week, usually on a Friday Night.

What you’ll need:

1. Black Soap Cleanser

2. Steamer, or DIY steamer of Pot and Towel

3. Indian healing Clay

4. Apple Cider Vinegar

5. Raw Honey

6. DIY moisturizing Oil (3 drops of Jojoba Oil + 1 drop TeaTree Oil)

Here’s what you do:

– First thoroughly cleanse your face, if you’re wearing makeup I suggest you remove your makeup with an Oil cleanser. If you do not have an Oil cleanser, what I do is massage a tablespoon of coconut oil onto my face then wipe with a warm towel.

– After removing my makeup, I thoroughly wash my face with my DIY Black Soap Cleanser.

Now your face is ready for treatment

Step 1: Bowl a small pot of water for 10 minutes, cover head with towel and allow the steam to open up your pores. Be sure to not burn yourself. Steam face for 5-7mins

Step 2: Mix the Apple Cider Vinegar with Indian healing clay until you form a smooth paste and apply on to DRY skin. Leave masque on for 20 minutes. Afterwards apply a damp towel on your face and wipe off the masque. Splash your face with cold water and pat dry.

Step 3: Apply raw honey all over your face and leave on for 45minutes to 1 hour. Raw Honey will heal, hydrate and moisturize your face after the intense clay treatment. Not doing so after the clay treatment can cause skin irritation and redness.

Final Step: Wipe off Honey and rinse face then apply your DIY moisturizer. If you are acne prone, use 2 drops of Jojoba Oil + 1 drop of Tea Tree oil, massage all over your face.
