D.I.Y Liquid Black Soap for Face Wash

Hey Beauty Lovers,

As you know, I am on a 30 day all natural Hair and Beauty product regimen. One of the first steps I took in this regimen was to create my own facial cleanser using Dudu Osun.

Dudu Osun is one of my favourite Soaps because it is all Natural. For those of you that don’t know, here are the ingredients in Dudu Osun:  Pure Honey, Shea Butter, Osun (camwood), Palmkernel Oil, Cocoa Pod Ash, Palm Bunch Ash, Glycerine, Aloe Vera, Lime Juice Oil, Lemon Juice Oil,Water Natural Fragrance.

Random fact, did you know that Dudu Osun is one of the top 50 most selling soaps in the World? That is to show you how popular the soap is.

If you a regular reader of this blog, you’d know that my skintype is Oily + Acne Prone, when it comes to facial washes, I am VERY careful about what I use because the wrong products can make my face flare up really badly.

I’ve read alot of reviews from people who claim that Dudu Osun helped clear their Acne, so I’m determined to see if this will be the case for me. I’ve used the soap to wash my face before but I found it to be abit too drying. So this time as a facial cleanser, I decided to do something different.

Dudu Osun as a Liquid Facial Cleanser.

Steps 1-3

I cut up small chunks of 1/2 a Bar of Dudu Osun and put it in a bowl. Afterwards I poured Hot water in the bowl, covered it up and set it aside for 1 hr.

Steps 4-6

Note I did not add alot of water because I didn’t want the cleanser to be too watery, after melting the soap for 1 hr, I then added 2 Tablespoon of Honey to the mixture. This is important, although honey is listed as an ingredient in the soap already, I wanted to add additional honey (manuka Honey) to my mix so it can  counteract the excessive dryness caused after using Dudu Osun as a face wash. Adding extra honey makes the soap more moisturizing.

What’s great about this Liquid wash, is that with this base, you can add a few drops of Tea Tree Oil and create your very own anti-acne black soap facial cleanser, or add Tea Tree Oil + I  Tablespoon of Aloe Vera and use it as a Natural Hair Shampoo!
